2K Sports has officially announced that NBA 2K24 will be released on September 8, 2023, with exciting new gameplay features. This popular annual basketball series will be available on multiple platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, just like the previous version.
Cross-play has been a long-requested feature by NBA 2K players who want to play with their friends on different consoles or enjoy a larger online community. NBA 2K24 is introducing cross-play functionality this year, but it will only be available for players using PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. That means those using PC, Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles will not be able to access the cross-play feature.
Kobe Bryan will be the cover athlete of NBA 2K24
Revealed in a tweet from NBA 2K, NBA legend Kobe Bryan will be featured on two separate editions of the game, the Kobe Bryant Edition and the Black Mamba Edition. There will also be a Mamba Moments mode that will let you relive some of his best performances.
Mamba Moments is similar to the Jordan Challenges in NBA 2K23. This feature allows players to step into the shoes of Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest NBA superstars of all time. Players can relive some of his most impressive performances and experience memorable moments from his 20-year career, from his 81-point game to his four consecutive games scoring at least 50 points. Kobe's journey from a young phenom to one of the best players of all time is a remarkable one, and Mamba Moments provides a unique opportunity to be a part of it.
Another major addition to this year's game is ProPlay, which is exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. This new technology "directly translates NBA footage into gameplay and delivers animations and movements via on-court NBA action."
The highly anticipated NBA 2K REP system and its corresponding rewards are returning for NBA 2K24. The system will allow players to advance their reputation status from Rookie to Top 10 and unlock various rewards along the way. However, the system will be only available on new-generation consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XlS).
MyNBA Mode
MyNBA mode and its features are exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. The mode is an excellent addition to NBA 2K24 that offers players a unique and immersive experience. With its various eras, MyNBA Lite option, and Tabloids feature, players can customize their franchise in ways that were previously not possible. If you are a fan of basketball history or simply want to create your own legacy in the league, MyNBA mode is definitely worth checking out.

The cost of the NBA 2K24 can differ based on the edition and the console you wish to play on. The Kobe Bryant Edition is priced at $69.99 for next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 5 & Xbox X|S Series, while for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the price is $59.99.
The Black Mamba Edition costs $99.99 for all the available consoles (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox X|S Series, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch). Finally, the 25th Anniversary Edition is priced at $149.99, but is only available on PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S Series, and PC.
